Project Engineer - Division 9 Flooring - BOTHELL, WA - Bothell, WA, US

As a Project Engineer for Division 9 Flooring, you support the Field Services Department by maintaining job budget & schedule information, preparing submittal & closeout packages, creating shop drawings, purchase/work orders, pricing & tracking change orders, validating labor performed for payroll & sub payables, and performing other support duties as assigned.

Division 9 is a project management company, principally providing our services through the installation of floor and wall coverings. We install an endless variety of finish materials in an endless variety of commercial settings, from the floor of the Verizon store to the ceiling of the Bank of America Tower! We also provide routine maintenance, damage restoration, and disinfecting services. We focus on what our clients need, and commit to applying our expertise as well as learning enthusiastically at all times.

A Project Engineer at D9 is a hub of information, and pulls many levers. Once a project is awarded, the PE becomes the one who knows everything about it, and through efficient & effective communication helps the team perform miracles in the field. Sometimes this means following a methodical SOP at your desk, and sometimes it means dropping everything and scouring the globe for available stock of a product. It might mean driving a bag of grout to a jobsite at 7pm on a Friday. What we do is complicated, intense, and rewarding – there are not a lot of boring days.

Project Engineers also form close bonds with our installers and clients, who are working towards the same end results. Relationship-building is a key attribute of a successful Project Engineer. Getting to know the people we work with extends beyond our walls – whether that be an installer, a subcontractor or their bookkeeper, our client or their tenant or their daughter – the extensive networks of people affected by our work mean that we have a deep need to form lasting, positive relationships.

We are hiring people who enjoy coordinating multiple projects in a team setting, regardless of rank and title. Happiness Matters! We need those who have no interest in blame, who can simultaneously take care of the client and the company, and who can operate in shades of gray. We also need people who understand how basic hand tools work, can figure dimensions and units of measure in their head, who probably like to take things apart and put them back together… and who like their desk to be organized and clean. The Project Engineer role is fun, exhausting, and occasionally requires a hard hat. Skills in Office365 also matter. Growth opportunities from here include a Superintendent or Sales role – there is crossover into both.
